Tetroneaque stared up at the oddly designed tower. It looked quite top heavy. Then the fact that it was isolated on a small island out in the bay only added to it's strangeness. There were also all the talk around town about a group of heroes who called the tower their home. The fact that five people needed a whole tower of this size to live in also added to the mystery. It was simply too tempting a target for the kitsune to ignore. It drew him like a moth toward a flame.
It had been rather easy to 'borrow' a small boat and land on the edge of the island. A short walk brought him to the tower itself. It was a lot bigger up close.
"This place looks interesting. I bet they have all kinds of fun stuff inside to play with too." He said to himself. His eyes sparkled with wonder as he looked at the place. He walked toward the door and looked it over. It didn't seem to have any locks or key hole. In fact there wasn't even a door knob. The kitsune was at a loss on how the thing would even open. The little numbered pad in the wall next to the door was utterly baffling to him, as he really had no experience with computer locking mechanisms.
This didn't set him back though. There were plenty of windows further up the tower. Tetroneaque reached into his robe and pulled out a long piece of rope attached to a small metal grapple. He spun the grapple around to build up some speed and then flung it upward toward an area that looked like it might grip. It didn't take the first two times, but on the third it clung to a metal fixture and stayed tight.
It took mere moments for the wily kitsune to climb the rope, making it seem as easy as walking down the sidewalk. He crouched next to a window and peered inside. The windows were tinted, making it impossible to see inside. He simply shrugged. He freed the grapple and rope, stowing it back in one of his robes many pockets. After all, he might need it again before the day was done.
Tetroneaque next removed the glove from his left hand, exposing the little claws on his fingers. With expert precision he cut the glass with his tiny claws, creating a small opening. After that was done, he put his glove back on and then morphed into full fox form. Now that he was smaller he easily slipped through the hole in the window.
"Oh. This place looks fun." He stated as he looked at the interior. Inside was a large room with a couch, massive flat screen, kitchen, and all sorts of other electronic gizmos that the kitsune had no idea about. After admiring the place for a few moments he morphed back into his normal form. His emerald eyes shone mischievously through his mask. He just knew he was going to have a great deal of fun in this place. He padded silently forward, going deeper into the tower's interior.

“N-No! I’m not like you!”
Even in slumber the images of sins and horrors flashed through Robins mind like a black and white movie. It seemed to happen every time he would try and get a relaxing sleep. Like every night he awoke, shooting up in his bed with sweat running down his face, blue eyes wide and full of fear under the acrylic slits of his mask as he gasped for breath. Chest heaving he cast a frantic glance about the darkened room as he tried to calm his erratic heartbeat. Another nightmare, it figured. The same one as before…chasing Slade and winding up destroying his friends and becoming the madman himself. A bizarre dream that, even though he knew was a nightmare, kept haunting him each night for the past few days. Slowly he glanced around his room to examine his furniture and layout - a plan he always used so he could distract himself from the dreams.
His room was relatively neat; a large and neatly made bed sat in the middle of the room, newspapers cluttered the desk and drawers, most of them on the wall, and a small computer lit up a small corner located by the windows. To the right of the tall windows a black and orange mask reflected in the moonlight.. ‘Ngh, I really should take this down. This is giving me the creeps each night. Can't believe I'm afraid of Slade right now.’ He thought to himself as he climbed out of bed and made his way over to the mask quietly before frowning slightly as he imagined seeing the eye behind it staring at him. Reaching a trembling hand out before him he gripped the mask and held it in one hand tightly as he narrowed his eyes at it while pulling it off the shelf.
'Who are you?'
It was the most common question he asked this dead mask every night in his head. Eyes narrowed for a moment as his gloved fingers toyed with the black and orange mask before it was placed back upon the wall. Well, it was obvious he wouldn’t be able to sleep again, after all - he still couldn’t get his heart to stop pounding so frantically. Sighing and running a hand through his bed-tousled hair he entered the code to his room and made his way out while glancing down the darkened hall. Moving into the darkness he made his way towards the main room only to mistakenly crash into another figure – sending Robin tumbling backwards onto the floor with a hiss of disapproval. “Damn it, Beast Boy! Would you stop sneaking around the halls?” He snapped angered as he forced himself to stand up and groped along the wall until he found the light switch. Flicking it up he stared dumbfounded at the person before him. Wait, that wasn’t Beast Boy. Eyes wide he ran his eyes over the new figure apprehensively. Keeping a few feet away he glowered down at the other male with his arms hidden under his cape before he tilted his head with a wicked smirk beginning to play upon his lips. “My, aren’t you the odd dressed fellow? Well, I suppose my attire is odd also, so tell me…who are you? We don’t take kindly to strangers breaking into our home, boy. So, you better have a damn good reason.” He hissed out as he reached behind him and ejected his bo-staff from the back pocket of his utility belt carefully - keeping it in its compact size so it would go unnoticed. He wasn't about to attack unless this guy had a reason for breaking in. What was with strangers breaking into a place full of teenaged superheroes? To Robin, this was more then a bit annoying.
After all, this was his home, and nobody broke into his home.

Tetroneaque was surprised when a door just sort of seemed to appear in the wall next to him. He was even more surprised when he collided with what must have been one of the tower's inhabitants. He sat on the floor for a moment, tilting his head to one side as he listened to the oddly garbed fellow. He had to admit, the other was a snappy dresser.
"Allow me to introduce myself. You can call me, The Phantom Fox. Pleasure to meet you...whoever you are. At least I think it's a pleasure..." He titled his head the other way as if he'd forgotten something and was trying hard to remember. Wait, why did I come here? Oh yeah!
"I assure you I have a very good reason for being here. In fact, it is the best reason to be here. I was bored! This place is neat!" Tetroneaque stated as if it were the most obvious thing in the world. Which to him, it was. He noticed the human, at least he smelled human, moving his hands behind himself. It was like he was reaching for a weapon. He also noticed the belt Robin was wearing. It was... magnificently shiny. Tetroneaque simply had to have it.
Tetroneaque sprang backwards, putting a bit more space between himself and the stranger for a moment. He was giggling like a loon now, as his obsession of collecting shiny objects began to kick in.
"I like your belt! It's so shiny! Can I have it?"

Wait, the guy didn’t want to rob them? Well, that was sort of a relief, but it didn’t excuse the other for breaking in now, did it? Narrowing his eyes slightly he gave the other a dark glare and kept his lips in a tight line. No, he wasn’t going to amuse this guy with his alias as Robin. The guy was obviously not a dangerous criminal; of course, you could never be too sure and Robin found himself wearily watching The Phantom Fox leap away before rambling about his belt.
“No.”
That was Robins answer to the question about if the other could have his utility belt. Oh, come on, this entire ruckus for his utility belt? It was hardly worth the effort. So what if it was shiny? Sighing he shifted himself and rolled his shoulders so his cape hid his belt from the others view and shook his head a bit annoyed. Slipping the bo-staff into his glove for later he gazed hard at the figure. “Now, leave or I’ll send you straight to the jail here. And, trust me, the only thing shiny you’ll have is handcuffs on those wrists.” He snapped out as he lifted his arm and waved at the other. The Phantom Fox’s behavior reminded him of Beast Boy or Starfire…scary, actually. He really didn’t want to deal with that right now especially with the headache forming in the back of his head. Well, he did get the others name, might as well throw in an introduction so the other didn’t pester him about it later. “And I’m Robin; the boy wonder, the ex-partner of the Batman, and the leader of the Teen Titans. Not pleased to meet you.”

Tetroneaque's seemed to wilt when Robin said he wouldn't part with the belt. It was just so darn shiny! Tetroneaque knew it would haunt his dreams until it was his. He would make it his own! He was prepared to pounce and take it, but the human was still talking. It would be rude to interrupt, especially since it seemed the human was introducing himself.
"Robin. Like the bird! Birdie birdie birdie!" The kitsune seemed to like that word, amused at how it rolled off the tongue. He wasn't mocking Robin, but it could certainly be construed that he was doing so. He tilted his head to one side, then the other every time he said the word 'birdie'. It would have been quite adorable if he hadn't just broken into Robin's home. The bit Robin said about sending Tetroneaque to jail didn't really seem to phase the kitsune at all, thus he ignored the threat. He did seem a bit hurt that Robin didn't like meeting him though. Everyone should love to meet Tetroneaque, he was a ray of sunshine coated in sugar!
"I don't feel like leaving yet, Mr. Grumpy Bird. I just got here after all! It would be a big waste of time if I didn't take a look around." The fact that this was Robin's home didn't seem to phase him at all. The only thing that seemed to matter was the kitsune's own amusement and his acquisition of shiny things. Speaking of shiny things, Tetroneaque could still see a glint of metal around Robin's waist where the cape didn't conceal the belt.
"Shiny shiny shiny!" Tetroneaque barked happily, pointing at the belt. Tetroneaque knew it would probably not be the wisest idea to try and simply grab the belt. No, a distraction would be needed. The kitsune tapped into his fox magic and created three glowing orbs of harmless fox fire, they spun about the kitsune's head and then went flying toward Robin. As they went forward Tetroneaque also chose that moment to dash forward.

Robin groaned and turned away as he felt himself be mocked; well, that was rude, he didn’t even make fun of the fox boys name yet! Jutting out a bottom lip he glared at the wall for a moment before turning around and arching a brow at the male for calling him ‘Mr. Grumpy Bird’, sheesh – that was the last time he told someone his name. ‘Damn it, take me serious you little pest! Do you not see my angered expression? Augh, I’m going to get you – ya’ little twerp!’ Robin thought to himself as he gritted his teeth together while growling low under his throat. The nerve of this pest! Treating him like a common person to be made fun of! How dare that brat think his name was something to make fun of! As the other pointed to his belt and yelled out the word ‘shiny’ three times, Robin glanced down a bit annoyed.
The belt again? Oh, good grief, first his name and now his belt? This guy just wasn’t letting up the insults! Groaning he turned to ignore the kid when he saw the glowing orbs of fire suddenly come shooting at him. Well, that wasn’t anything bad, his suit and cape was fireproof. Turning he ignored the fire racing towards him and felt a smirk come onto his lips as he watched the other jump towards him. ‘Oh, this is amusing. He doesn’t know that my clothing protects me. Then again, is that fire real? I’m not taking any chances with my hair.’ Waiting for a second, right as the others hand was a mere inch from his belt he suddenly sprung backwards – twisting his body and performing three backwards cartwheels before landing at the end of the hall with his head tilted. My, a Fox and a Robin, what an interesting thing; however, Robin was far too amused by the other right now as a large smirk began playing upon his lips.
“Are you kidding, fox-boy? My suit is fireproof and I have a quick eye. I’m not falling for that jump and grab trick.” Robin spoke as he waved the other off with a careless flick of the hand. “You’re a fox, correct? I don’t know if you’re a real one so I’m going to assume you either know some form of fox magic or analyzed a way to reproduce it.” He assumed with a shrug as he yawned a bit, just to add injury to insult. He had learned about all sorts of magic from reading Ravens books…these days, nothing surprised him anymore. Turning himself with a bored expression he held up one hand with a shrug of his shoulders and cast a glance towards him. “If you desperately want my belt you can start by not breaking into my home. I have a ton of these things but this one is fully loaded with explosives as are most of them.” Robin explained with a sigh before he turned himself away so his back faced the other as he shook his head. Really, did he have to lecture this guy until he understood? Because, honestly, he really just wanted to blow the guy off and do something more exciting that didn’t involve the word ‘shiny’ every minute…or the insults.
Oh, those insults!
What a little pest! “If you would have met me another time, in a more friendly way, I would have given you an empty belt. As of now, you’re not getting it. Try as you might, dear friend, but I can keep dodging all night.” As he spoke he found himself staring at the other in amusement. What kind of person was this guy? Did he not realize the moment he entered that he was bound to be hurt or sent to jail? The Phantom Fox was lucky that he had only run into the normal human of the team - Robin would hate to see what would of happened if he went into Raven's room. The poor guy would've never been found.[/blockquote]

Tetroneaque rolled as Robin leaped out of the way, breaking his own fall and coming in a crouch. His mask hid his face, but underneath was a huge smile. It seemed this human was going to be more fun than he had first thought.
"Nice moves!" Tetroneaque complimented. He decided to take this game to the next level. Fox fire was all well and good for most people, but this guy didn't seem phased. Perhaps something a bit more... fearsome would distract him a bit more. Pulling on what he knew, Tetroneaque decided to conjure up something he himself always thought was a bit scary.
The lighting seemed to dim a bit as a mist crept up about ankle high, which was rather odd since they were inside. Tetroneaque himself seemed to vanish fro Robin's sight. Soon the sound of heavy footsteps could be heard coming from the other end of the hall. Someone large, and heavy, and metal was coming. It wasn't cyborg though. Instead, a massive armored samurai with a large naginata came trudging out of the darkness. A demonic face of an Oni was the being's face mask. It's eyes glowed eerily, and liquid fire seemed to escape from his mouth like burning drool. It seemed the kitsune's illusions could be quite potent when he wanted them to be.
Tetroneaque's laughter could be heard coming from every direction at once.
"I have a lot more tricks up my sleeves than you might think. Plus, I got the feeling you were getting a bit bored." Tetroneaque's always cheerful voice sounded, echoing off everything at once. The kitsune himself was slinking through the fake mist, veiling himself with an illusion of invisibility. His plan, distract Robin with the demon samurai warrior and snatch his belt.
