ooc | lulz, this is suckage. ): sorry nina. my other posts will be better, I promise. :3
Dick Grayson had never been one for having a good day. Well, scratch that, he could have a good day if he had a few cups of coffee and silence. On this Friday afternoon he had gotten his silence but had discovered something that sent him reeling in shock. They were out of his coffee. It probably shouldn’t have surprised him considering how low on it he had been these past few days; however, it was completely obvious after he had almost smashed the game station controller through the large glass windows that he desperately needed his coffee.
“Come on.” Dick hissed out as he shifted in his spot in the long line of the Java Joint. He had been lucky to get here before the afternoon rush started yet he still found himself number three in the line and, as of now, it seemed the guy in the front of the line was slowly ordering the whole menu. A cuss escaped his lips as he glanced upwards towards the clock hanging on the wall.
He had learned through years of training that patience was bound to bring you plentiful rewards. Perhaps that was true but as of now he could barely contain his anger as the line stood still for this one guy. Rocking himself on the balls of his feet he briefly glanced towards the ceiling and ran his eyes over the tiles above him with a brow cocked upwards. Fuck, the ceiling still had a crack in it from his recent fight with Plasmus, he really hoped he wouldn’t have to fix that later. Sighing softly he blew a bang from his eyes and gazed forward as the man finally left the line and made his way out.
‘About goddamn time,’ Dick thought to himself as he chewed on his bottom lip and smirked as the woman in front of him just ordered a small mocha before leaving. ‘Why can’t they all be like her? Sheesh.’ He mused quietly as he stepped forward and waiting for the cashier to finish putting the woman’s money in the register. As he waited he ran his eyes over the menu and smiled at all the choices. This was like his coffee heaven. Oh, look, they had tea-lattes! He hadn’t had one of those since he left Alfred.
“Excuse me for a moment sir, I have to go get some change from the back.” The cashier said hurriedly before vanishing and causing Dick to stare at the now empty area in front of him. Well, that was just great. Sighing he ran a hand through his hair and glanced behind him to see how many other people were now waiting. Wow, the line was almost to the door, damn. Chewing his lip, a bad habit that he had been trying to break, he gazed around for a moment only to feel his lip twitch into a frown. No one he knew, how boring.
“Welcome to Java Joint. May I take your order?”
“Er,” Dick said having been snapped out of his thoughts as he coughed a bit embarrassed. My, he was being so absent minded today! “Yes, I’d like the White Chocolate Mocha in a venti size.” He said hurriedly as he carefully watched the man shout the order to another employee who began making the said beverages. About damn time, he needed this extra caffeine, and wanted to get out of this long ass line.
“That’ll be two-fifty.”
Biting his lip to retort about how it could cost so much, Dick fished his money out hurriedly and forked it over to the cashier while mumbling ‘keep the change’ to him. Stepping out of the line while holding his drink in his gloved hands he made his way towards the exit and pushed the doors open with his free hand before shielding his eyes slightly. He didn’t realize how bright the sun was until now. Frowning, though it became hidden as he took a much needed sip of the coffee, he began walking down the sidewalk as he gazed towards the sky. ‘I really should be doing some paperwork,’ he thought to himself as he turned his head and glanced at a nearby High School who would be dismissing its students at any moment. ‘So much for that idea, I’ll never finish it with the slow pace I’m walking now.’ A nearby tree caught his eyes and he made his way over – easily scaling the tree and resting his back against the trunk as he stretched his legs out slightly so the trees leafs would shade him. From this position he could see the school doors easily. It would be nice to see what normal teenagers were doing when they left the place. ‘Normal? Oh, boy wonder, you’re far from that. Even if you wanted to be normal you never could considering how your parents still haunt your dreams. Look at you; you’re a traffic-light-coffee-drinking-depressed-psychopath who talks to himself in his mind.’ Oh damn it all, he really had to stop talking to himself. It wasn't like it was his fault, though! Honestly, he would have preferred talking to someone else, but there weren’t many people who understood him. In fact, he doubted anyone understood him. All he ever wanted to do was just forget his problems and be normal. Was it so wrong to just wish for school? Though, he supposed, it was an odd request. He really wouldn't mind sitting in a classroom and stuff; you know, just enjoying life and acting like a regular teenager.
"Damn it!" Dick snapped out as he pressed his free hand to his face and pushed at his mask experimentally in an attempt to remind himself of who he was. This flimsy mask controlled his life and it made him who he was. The Boy Wonder. The Titans Leader. Batman's Ex-Partner. Actually, he couldn't escape even if he did remove the wretched mask. The thought of escape made his mind drift.
Terra escaped, hadn't she? He hadn't believed Beast Boy at first but he wasn't a dumb person. He did go and check on her tomb and discovered it was empty. Often, he wondered if it was Raven who played a part in that. When Trigon came and turned everyone into stone Raven was able to reverse the processs - had Terra been reversed also? It didn't matter. he would be happy to see her again. Actually, he'd be ecstatic, he'd probably scoop her up in a hug and then let her go about her business. He wouldn't want her to be forced back into the titans or force them both to become friends again. After all, she would be happier without the titans, right?
Wait, why was he thinking about Terra?
'Because, boy wonder, if you stayed Slade's apprentice and didn't blabber to her about knowing that she couldn't control her powers then Slade would have never gotten her. It's all your fault.' At this, he winced a bit and diverted his gaze towards the ground. Terra was a mistake and he wished he could see her again just so he could apologize and wish her luck. Despite the fact he hardly knew her he did know that she and him were alike. They were both confused and the only difference was that she showed it more then he did. She wanted control and a normal life and he, himself, hardly had control of his own life which was far from normal.
Truthfully, he missed Terra. He missed how they would get pizza together and hang out. It was odd. He often passed by her old room and would look in at times just to see if she was there. Sure, he hardly spoke to her, but he couldn't help but miss her and he couldn't help but blame himself on everything. It was all his fault and no one was going to convince him otherwise. He sometimes wished he could have stayed Slade's apprentice so the man wouldn't have eyed Terra. Fuck, he was having way too many depressing thoughts these days, that couldn't be healthy.
Sighing he ran a hand through his hair and perked up slightly as the sound of the final bell for the school ringing loudly. Hm, he wondered if Terra went to school now. Leaning forward in the shade of the tree he set his cup down beside him on another branch and squinted towards the doors with an interested look. If Terra came out in a school girl uniform he'd probably fall out of the tree either from shock or laughing.
How funny a sight that would be; after all, he couldn't imagine seeing Terra alive and well again. Besides, in all the high schools Jump City hosted, he doubted this one would host the one girl Robin actually missed dearly.
...Right?

ooc:// yay for worse of a post. SORRY AMANDA! D'=
Her head was no longer a part of school, since she changed from such a prestigious school to this piece of crap, Terra really wasn’t into it. Sure, she was smart and managed an A average but her concentration was little to never there. Her eyes kept glancing to the teacher as little doodles appeared on her paper, just small things. Memories.
Terra really had a lot of memories, she had too many really. Some may call them flashbacks but no matter the name they always caught the young blonde off guard, forcing her into a cold sweat as she figured she couldn’t completely forget the past she had chosen. It wasn’t something of choice, no everything had a reason.
Closing her eyes in a grimace Terra frowned, well of course she had to have these stupid flashbacks it was the only way her mind kept her remembering such feeble things. A voice interrupted her complex thought as the man at the head of the room shouted, “Terra! Terra! Terra Markov!” he called staring at her current state. She was a sickly pale, as though she had just seen a ghost which her memories were close to. ”Yes? she muttered quietly, embarrassed by all the attention given to her by the many class mates as she refused to pay attention to such a familiar topic. “You look ill.” He said complex, “I’d like you to go see the nurse.” He said shooing her out the room. ”Great” she thought to herself, Terra wasn’t exactly known for being a popular girl but she never really enjoyed the company of friends in class, it was during lunch and after school she took advantages of such contacts. She walked out of the class trying to keep her pride no matter what the situation was, these kids weren’t going to judge her as a failure. Her eyes gloomily fell on the nurse’s room. What the heck, why would she go to such a useless place? She moved down the hall her steps echoing against the firm surface. Yes, being out of class was nice. She’d return in some time. Once she got the things in her mind straightened out.
Sitting down in a small corner Terra curled up, and closed her eyes. Her mind fell back in time, she thought about everything but mostly Slade and the Titans, then Beast Boy, Robin, everyone she betrayed. What she would have done to have their trust once more, to know they still wanted her back. She knew Beast Boy would but what was the likeliness of anyone else wanting her? The short plaid skirt balled up high on her thigh and her gauzy polo seemed far too thin for such a day. Terra had turned into something she was far from. A preppy little school girl, sure she moved onto a new school but all the while this was just as bad. The teachers where worse and the courses far too, well boring. She remained in the same mental condition, and she would never be normal no matter how hard she tried. She was a strange human being with unnatural powers. Her eyes opened a crack as she looked around the hall a frown formed on her face, Terra needed just to be an actual normal person at this point. She had too much of a past and an unpredictable future her life really didn’t belong with these people and they understood it no matter how much Terra refused to accept it.
Slowly, Terra stood to her feet just standing there for a moment regaining herself as she looked around the hall, no one was there. Her hair a tad tousled, a quick combing with her fingers easily did the trick. She was just a normal girl to everyone here, a normal, outcast girl. Yea, that was it. They knew nothing about her…
Her hand slipped on the cool metal knob as she walked into the room silently, the bell was due to ring in just a couple moments Terra hadn’t needed to listen to the lecture thank god. All she had to do was collect her items and leave. It was actually going to be a decent day, or she hoped. She sat in her seat eyes staring at her in curiosity though Terra was far too lazy to return any of the gazes. She picked up her stuff self consciously, and then stared at the teacher until the shrill pitch of the bell echoed throughout the room. That was a nice sounds no matter how annoying.
She rushed out of the classroom not allowing anyone to ask her how she was, Terra wasn’t about to put her stories on the line right now. She went to her locked quickly placing some things in and taking a near equal amount out. Nodding to herself as she banged the door shut Terra looked at the crowded exit. She’d wait some time before exiting; she really didn’t feel like being in a mob today. She drug her feet to the door as she finally excited with nearly no one in sight. She enjoyed the sense of silence. Walking with a slow pace she went down the stairs trying to take her entire surroundings in, Terra really had nowhere to go like all these kids, she was just a person with a good amount of free time.

As the mob of students raced out Robin couldn’t help but stare wide-eyed at them all. Whoa, when he attended school in Gotham it had been way different. Then again, Gotham was a city of the past, sweater-vests there were considered cool. Sighing, he took another sip of his coffee as he carefully watched the students leave the campus with a bored expression. Although he saw plenty of blonde-haired blue-eyed teenage girls none of them looked familiar to him. It wasn’t like he was expecting to find her here; after all, he didn’t know what school she attended or if she even attended school. Grunting and now disappointed in his futile search he arose on the branch so he was standing and took a final sip of his mocha before tossing it into a nearby trash bin.
‘So much for this bright idea, wonder boy, you just wasted fifteen minutes looking for a girl who might not even live in Jump City anymore.' He couldn’t help but chuckle at the thought as he ran a gloved hand through his windblown hair and moved to turn away before something caught his eye. Another blonde-haired girl? But, this was different; her walk seemed so familiar to him! Stunned he moved forward on the sturdy branch as he squinted his eyes slightly. No, it couldn’t be Terra, right? ‘No, boy wonder, it’s not her! Don’t get worked up or something that you’re not sure about.’ Oh, but he had to see! He had to get closer so he could look at her fully and just get some closure that this familiar looking girl wasn’t his friend. Moving forward he launched himself out of the tree, jumping onto another tree branch, and repeated the process for a few moments until he landed in a tree located closer to the steps the girl was walking down. Now at a closer viewpoint he pushed himself forward so he could stare down at her for a few moments. It was Terra. No one else could look that much like her! But, now what could he do? His mind told him to walk away and let her be in peace…yet his heart, which ached to see his friend alive and hear her voice, screamed at him to swoop down and see her.
What could he do, though? He never listened to his heart when doing things! Yet, for the first time in forever, he found himself silently jumping out of the tree and ducking into the shadows by the stairs of the school. He didn’t want the other students seeing and causing a ruckus. As Terra moved by him on the steps he shot his hand out and gripped her arm – jerking her quickly off the stairs and into the semi-dark shadows as he stood there for a moment so he could take in her features. It couldn’t be a coincidence, this had to be Terra. Though, their meeting wasn’t going to be sweet, he had a feeling the girl wouldn’t be too happy with him for ‘kidnapping’ her like this. Snorting, though he hid his amusement, he let go of her arm and stepped back a few feet so she couldn’t see his face. If she knew that he missed her then he’d never live it down. ‘Damnit, say something boy wonder! You just jerked her into the shadows like you’re a freaking psychopath!’ But, what could he say? What was he supposed to say? Oh, he should have thought of this before he did it! Damn him for choosing his heart over his rational thinking. Cussing under his breath he then moved forward so she could see his face - a curious and almost remorseful expression on his face there instead of his normal stoic one as he locked his masked eyes with her for a few minutes.
“Hello, Terra.” Robin finally mustered out as he fought back the urge to smile slightly at the name. He never thought he’d speak it again. “It’s…been for too long, I believe.” He said as he looked at her uniform with a brow arched. Any other day, he would have probably joked her on the uniform then would have offered her some pizza to make up for his teasing. Too bad times couldn’t be like that again. Then again, things changed, and he knew that nothing would ever be normal – there was no such thing as normal when you were them.

Terra finished her way down the stairs quietly, she was happy to be done with the wretched idea of school. She began turning when someone grabbed her.
”What the hell! she nearly shouted before realizing someone had taken her into shadows. This wasn’t exactly the most pleasurable thing in the world. Her mind dizzy with ideas of what this could possibly be none of these flurries of thoughts rational, or even comprehendible, it was just a blur. Her attacker moved into the shadows, what a strange person? She looked at the person, dazed and shocked unsure what to think until pure instinct roared in.
Her hands began glowing before she understood who it possible could be, “Terra” the word penetrated her trance of fear and distrust as she looked at the person confused, the masculine voice appeared to be staring at her, as though he missed her. She cocked her head to the side unsure what to make of the situation anymore.
”Robin?” she asked bewildered by the masked teenager. She looked at him confused eyes unmoving from the figure. He sure looked like Robin, it was impossible he was anything but. She never expected any of the titans to find her though, especially in school.
Her face turned hot pink under the embarrassment of the situation, she had nearly exploded on him great way of showing her control now. Her uniform was a disgrace to the name of the titans though it had to be better than spandex, who really knew though. The titans were proud of their fighting in tights.
”Well I see you found me, but can’t you just be a little more… normal next time?” Terra said smiling, she couldn’t believe it was Robin and it wasn’t as she suspected him hating her for being an apprentice to Slade, he seemed happy. If that was even possible for the leader, she had always thought of him as a reserved observant fellow. Not like this acting purely on desire. She looked around a bit self conscious, she was Terra. Sure, but she also seemed completely out of her league with a titan. She had been denying her name as an old titan for what seemed years, soon enough she’d end up being a loner again. She frowned with such a thought; she really didn’t enjoy attempting to be normal when she understood it was impossible. Terra was mentally as well as physically attached to her difference from the world. Grasping her books to her chest she looked back up to make eye contact, trying to understand Robin.
“We aren’t that different, are we? she blurted out beginning to understand she had some invisible connection to Robin, unfamiliar with what it is she began to understood it was there… Some similar trait was there…

Robin wearily stared at Terra’s hands as they glowed for the brief few moments. Luckily, she recognized him, and he relaxed himself briefly. He really didn’t blame her – if it were him he would have aimed a roundhouse kick to the persons face. As she spoke his name he couldn’t help but have his lips twitch into a small smile. Hearing her voice was nice, actually. Stepping closer he glanced away and ducked back in the shadows as a teacher left the building with a sigh escaping him. He felt so out of place right now. Even at his school in Gotham he had always felt weird – even though his friend made cheese licorice soup and made him eat it – that just made school even worse. Shuddering he came back out of the shadows and glanced, once more, wearily towards the doors. God, he hated schools.
”Well I see you found me, but can’t you just be a little more… normal next time?”
“Normal? Terra, you do realize you’re talking to a boy who dresses in spandex and runs around in bright colors, right?” Robin couldn’t help but remind as he felt a small smile tug onto his lips. It was odd talking to her – she looked so normal didn’t she? Actually, without his uniform, he looked normal also. But, she was doing something he couldn’t do; she was living a normal life. Oh, he missed living that life. “Besides, I’m not exactly…the most normal guy you could know, Terra.” He said with a shrug and glanced at her for a moment as she locked eyes with his own. Realizing their eye contact he moved forward once more and leaned forward, arms clasped behind his back, as he read the names of the books she held tightly to her.
“We aren’t that different, are we?”
The question caught Robin off guard both physically and emotionally. His eyes widened, lips turning into a nervous frown, as he turned his head away and ran a hand through his hair. He hadn’t been expecting her to blurt out something he had been thinking about. It was almost as if she had somehow heard his thoughts. The boy wonder felt at a loss for words as he turned himself to her but bent his head slightly so his face was hidden. Thoughts were racing through his head and none of them made sense to him. “No, Terra, we’re more alike then I think we both realize.” Finally, after a brief pause, he lifted his head and moved forward before slowly reaching out and jerking her towards him in a tight hug. It was odd, he hated showing emotion – yet, this time he had too, actions did speak louder then words after all. Silently he stood there, embracing her tightly and feeling her warmth and heartbeat, it didn’t make sense – she was alive, yet he just couldn’t help but admire how the once stone cold statue was now moving and breathing. Sighing, though he hid it, he quickly moved back two large steps as if he hadn’t just embraced her and adjusted his cape while glancing at her.
“…I missed you, just so you know.” Robin finally blurted out to break the tension he felt from the hug as he turned himself away as he ran a hand through his heard with a weak smile. “Yeah, I missed you. Hard to believe, huh? I’m not an expressionless stoic leader, Terra. I’m human – I’m not here as the ‘titans leader’ I’m here as a friend. Besides,” He paused for a moment and glanced at her while tugging at his gloves, a nervous habit he had formed, before turning his eyes away. “I missed talking to you without feeling like I had to be someone else. Plus, I also wanted to say how sorry I am for everything I ever did to you.” He admitted with a shrug of the shoulders as he glanced at her again. Robin didn’t want to be near Terra – he had messed everything up before – he still blamed himself for everything…and, god knows, if it happened again he would never forgive himself. Strange, he felt just as guilty about Terra as he did with his parent’s murders as the same thoughts would run through his mind.
If only I hadn’t said that. If only I had done something. If only I could have stopped myself from doing the wrong thing.
If only.. It scared him knowing that he had caused his friend, who he had grown to trust and love like a sister, so much pain. Wincing slightly he forced his normal expressionless face, his stone mask, back into place as he gazed at her. Just for once he wished he could be in a school uniform with her – walking down the hallway holding books and whining about a teacher or an exam. It could happen; though, he doubted the teachers would let him out every time his communicator went off. [/blockquote]

Terra’s eyes searched Robin really unsure what to say or do, he was obviously not fond of school they way he reacted and repeatedly glanced at the entrance. Terra really wasn’t all that happy with the annoyance of being at school still. She really hadn’t been a fan of the boring way of learning anyhow. Maybe getting away was a good idea, later. Robin seemed far too engaged in staying in this spot at the moment.
Normal… that was surely something to think about, Terra understood she was far from it just like Robin. She grinned a tad looking at his green and red clad. She realized how weird it looked- the two of them together. They could have easily been mistaken as a completely different intent all the while. She shrugged looking at him. She knew he wasn’t normal, but Terra wasn’t all that normal either. She could make herself glow, really is that normal? She hadn’t seen other teenagers having their eyes turn yellow when they lashed out in rage.
She rocked back and forth, her body moving rhythmically as she listened to his logic; Terra was dumbstruck at his actual response. She had somehow stupidly, over powered her will and just came out with it. But no matter how much she preferred to refrain from the subject it was inescapable. They were completely alike. She glanced down, nearly a bright red at how she had shoved her foot in her mouth. How lovely? At least he hadn’t laughed at her for it. No, he didn’t laugh he grasped her.
It took a few moments for Terra to understand he was hugging her, she was nearly taken aback and shoved him away but she understood, he needed it as much as she did. They still enjoyed her company amazingly. She closed her eyes smiling to herself as he hugged her; the silence of the embrace was worth far more than words. When her old leader pulled away he acted like nothing had happened when something obviously did. Robin was something so difficult to understand yet it made him somewhat sane.
”I missed you… That in itself made Terra frown regrettably, what was wrong with her. Terra should have been happy that she wasn’t just a stupid girl. She was actually part of their family. She thout about what she had done to them though, she refused to rejoin them and ended up hurting them far more than she expected. Terra had simply accepted the idea that they never really wanted her back but this was just completely unexpected. She stared at him awed as he explained he wasn’t some machine and was capable of emotion but Terra was caught up in the simplicity of those three words, she missed him too. She wasn’t capable of saying it right now though. Her throat balled up with emotions as the frown turned into an undistinguishable facial expression. Her fingers finding the edge of her hair, pushing it back behind her ear Terra looked at him. He was serious.
“I missed you too… That was all Terra could manage to get out before ending up backing away a couple of steps, she had watched him back away and felt as though she was hurting Robin even more now. She was stupid, she should have just pretended to be stupid. She’d hurt the teen titans. Although Robin may have missed her he’d never trust her again. She was just an old connection that needed mending. Or maybe not, somewhere inside her she hoped it would be different. Maybe…

As Terra said she missed him and backed away, Robin felt his lips tug into a small frown. He should have expected it considering how he had done so first. Sighing he glanced away for a brief moment as he tried to figure out what he had to say. She missed him, he missed her – yet, for some reason, everything felt so awkward. Well, that also was too be expected, she had tried to kill him before. A smile played onto his lips as he remembered him and her having the solo battle after he had watched her send Starfire hurtling off the cliff. My, that was long ago. Smirking slightly he moved forward so he stood at least a few feet in front of her and crossed his arms behind his back before leaning forward slightly. “Terra, you don’t think I trust you, do you?” As he said this a familiar smirk played upon his lips before he rocked on the balls of his feet and chewed his lip in thought. What could he do to let her know he trusted her? Sighing he stood up straight and turned away from a moment while gazing at the brick wall of the school. He could invite her out for pizza but it would be odd for the boy wonder to be seen with her, wouldn’t it? Yes, the press and gossip would say the titans had Terra rejoin them, and that was something he didn’t need right now. He wasn’t about to let the girl go through excruciating press coverage and microphone being shoved in her face by the most nosy of reporters. But, then how? How was he to go out in public with her without creating suspicion? How was he supposed to blend in with normal society?
Wait, he didn’t need a disguise, he was a normal citizen without the damn mask. But, really, could he divulge such a secret to Terra? If he did so it would mean that he would be giving her the information to everything…he’d have to tell her his name, his past, and his secrets. Yet, as normally bad as that sounded, it didn’t faze him now. He trusted Terra and knew she was just a confused soul who couldn’t live the normal life. Smiling slightly he turned to Terra and laughed softly. “You know, I don’t normally do this.” And, as he said that, he reached up and daintily removed the adhesive mask from his face before casting a glance at her with a smirk playing upon his lips. His large blue eyes locked with hers for a moment before he waved the mask in two fingers with a yawn. “I get tired of wearing this damn thing, I admit.”
Placing the mask in his utility belt for easy access he cast another warm and kind smile to her – a smile that normally looked sarcastic with the mask on – as he walked over so he stood in front of the other. Of course, he glanced around, making sure no one was nearby and once he was sure the coast was clear he focused himself back to the task at hand. Slowly he held out his hand as if for a handshake and smirked slightly as he waited for her reaction as he said the next few words.
“My name is Dick Grayson. It’s a pleasure to properly introduce myself to you, Terra.”

Terra looked at his frown unsure what to make of such an idea, he was unhappy about her missing him? That would be an understandable statement though it seemed out of reach after he had just stated he had missed him first. She looked down hoping she hadn’t done something wrong as she noticed her had moved forward a bit, smiling now. That was a good sign. She looked up at him curious, Robin really was a curious character never really one to be completely trusted yet she may have been just as shady all the while.
”Terra, you don’t think I trust you, do you?” Robin knew her inner thoughts far too well, although Terra would never admit it she would have never thought the person she tried to kill would want to keep her a close friend all the while. She Looked down ashamed of herself and nodded silently, she wasn’t about to say anything in response she was far too embarrassed to speak seeing as it would have just managed a small mutter of words, barely audible is she had chosen to respond verbally. Terra stared at him utterly confused, why was he doing this? She watched the mask just a flimsy piece of cloth in his hand easy enough to be taken by the wind yet it looked so strong on the teenagers face. He did trust her, more than she understood. Her eyes wide, and her mouth agape as she looked at the normal black haired boy, he was just like her aside from the spandex. She was red with shock unsure what to think of the current situation. Robin trusted her though, more than Terra had understood, more than Raven more than she would have known. He too was capable of being a normal person, it made her smile inside. Maybe that’s what the mask really was for so he can manage being normal whenever he pleased. She understood that feeling though she also realized that neither he nor she could be a normal person no matter how much they looked the part they were different on the inside where it really mattered. She watched his hand unsure what was the necessary thing to do, shake it obviously but Terra was far too nervous to think such simple things through. She grinned pushing out her hand after a momentary break down. ”Hello Dick, it’s nice to meet you.” her eyes filled with happiness at saying this idea she looked him over once more knowing the spandex wouldn’t do with the whole being normal thing and understood why he did this. He wanted her to understand he trusted her, no matter what doubts she had. ”So, would you like to ditch the spandex or is wearing them preferable?” she asked in almost a snide tone. She was happy; he was almost identical to her. Her face showed it too, the resonance of embarrassment was long gone and the feeling of being necessary had filled its void.

Dick almost laughed as he watched her face turn red. His eyes showed his amusement though as a small smile began to pull at the corners of his lips. My, he hadn’t been expecting that reaction but at least she didn’t scream out his name and run around while doing so. As her hand slowly united with his, he wrapped his gloved fingers around hers and grinned widely. There, the deal was done, the handshake officially meant she was too never speak of this to anyone and that she was vowing to keep his secret – he hoped, anyways. Pulling his hand back to his side he studied her for a moment before blinking as she commented on his attire. Oh, damn it all! Frowning he looked down at his attire with wide eyes before turning and rubbing the back of his head with a nervous chuckle.
“Well, uh, they might not be stylish or comfortable but I’ve been wearing spandex since I was a young child. So, honestly, they feel like clothing to me.” He explained as he rolled his eyes for a moment with the same nervous grin on his face. Well, he did have some clothing…he’d have to hurry back to his cycle parked in the alley nearby and change. “But, uh, I have a pair of clothes in my cycle. I always keep them just in case I need to go undercover, you know?” As he spoke he flicked open the compartment of his belt and placed the mask back upon his eyes for a moment before turning and walking into the shadows so he vanished from her sight. Hopefully, she wouldn’t think he was ditching her or try to follow him – the last thing he needed was Terra walking in on him changing. Actually, Terra would probably crack up and make everyone nearby come see the boy wonder ‘stripping’. Pushing his way through the shadows he glanced about before vanishing into the alley and typing in a code on his cycle – which, in turn, slid open a small compartment under the seat. Grabbing the clothing he ducked behind the dumpster and began mission ‘become a civilian’. Luckily he was a quick changer and it only took him about two minutes to change into the dark red shirt and a pair of blue baggy jeans. Fixing himself he touched his hair and – with a sigh – slowly began messing it up so it fell messily about his face. Good, now he looked normal. Relaxing himself he kicked his boots off and put on the socks and tennis shoes he had – tying the laces easily and jumping up after he was done. Finally! Shoving his Robin uniform into the same compartment he had gotten his clothes from before he paused and slowly slid the mask into his pocket…just in case trouble occurred while they were out. Glad to be done he made his way out of the alley nonchalant and approached the spot Terra was still at. Smirking he jumped into the tree over her, sat on the branch, then flipped off it so he was hanging by his legs upside down with his face appearing right in front of hers.
“I swear, jeans are so loose. I prefer tighter clothing.” Dick whined out as he hung there with a bored expression on his face before flipping off the branch and landing beside her as he looked at his ungloved hands. Weird, he couldn’t remember the last time he took his gloves off – unless showering counted? Almost laughing, he had a tendency to be more amused as Dick Grayson, he turned to face Terra with a grin. “So, Terra? Want to get some pizza or something? I know there’s one right down the road. That is, if you’re not too busy with…” he paused and eyed her books with a weary look – which, actually, made sense because the few days he spent in school Dick Grayson learned that homework was his worst enemy. “…homework.” he finally said after a long glare towards the books. Breaking his stare he turned to terra with a small smile on his face. My, how odd was it to be standing here in civilian attire chatting like a normal person without raising questioning looks!
"Besides, I think it's time I told you everything."
